NORTHERN LOG DELIVERS DISTINCTIVE MATERIALS FOR IMMERSIVE EATERY IN WORLD-CLASS AMUSEMENT PARK
Cedar Point is an amusement park located in Sandusky, Ohio on the shores of Lake Erie with more than 150 years of history, 17 world-class roller coasters, and a wide assortment of other attractions including live shows and immersive dining experiences. For the 2022 season, Cedar Point added The Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill to serve as the focal point for the Big Cedar Farm and Frontier Town districts of the park. The restaurant covers a large footprint, with areas for live entertainment and a sizable outdoor dining area where guests can enjoy flank steak, house-made chili, roasted corn ribs, and more.
Northern Log Supply was asked to provide many of the essential building materials and other elements to pull off a very specific aesthetic. The park wanted its newest flagship eatery to fit seamlessly into Frontier Town with a timber-framed, Old West-style feel. Northern Log Supply delivered natural wood, big beams, metal plate connectors, interior paneling, authentic looking railings, and more. The Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill looked the part, and the project was finished in time for the park’s spring opening.
The project was sold in December 2021 and faced a tight deadline with the park opening for the season on May 7, 2022. The project was completed in March 2022, which allowed time for finishing touches and other details to be finalized for the restaurant’s preview event and later grand opening. Northern Log Supply’s ability to provide structural engineering stamping support eliminated extra steps and kept the project on track.
